This year's Edinburgh International Festival boasts a music programme that ranges more widely than ever before. The juxtaposition of music from different traditions should prove invigorating - and our own Festival Brochure reflects that diversity of artists and music, from the improvisations of pianist Gabriela Montero to the exuberant gypsy music of Roby Lakatos. The visit of the LSO with Valery Gergiev has prompted us to offer the LSO's own label LSO Live at reduced prices to all customers for six weeks. And as we bid an affectionate farewell to Alfred Brendel, who retires from the concert platform in December, we are offering his Philips recordings at special prices to our discount cardholders. Finally, we've taken the innovative step of producing a Summer Catalogue highlighting many of the fine recordings released over the past few months. Details of all the above are enclosed in this newsletter. Whether you are able to get to the Festival or not, there is no shortage of music to enjoy this August!
