Newsletter - March 2010

This month heralds such a flood of good new releases that we have collected together the strongest titles in a leaflet - and temporarily reduced some of the prices! Thus Andreas Scholl's new disc of songs by the 15th-century poet and composer Oswald von Wolkenstein can be obtained for £13.99 instead of the usual £15.99, and the long-awaited CD of Thomas Adès' Violin Concerto is £9.99 instead of £12.99. Handel duets from Rosemary Joshua and Sarah Connolly, stunning Haydn from pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Russian songs from Anna Netrebko are among further tempting new issues. Perhaps most eagerly anticipated is the second volume of Mozart symphonies from Sir Charles Mackerras and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, due for release on March 15th. Sir Charles also has a disc of Dvořák symphonic poems with the Czeck Philharmonic due out one week later. Reduced prices will be held until the end of April.
